The camera pans to show the picturesque but quiet country lane where the two crossed paths.

With light fading first, Ms Matthews starts driving around the local area to try to find who Barry belongs to.

By now, the co*ckerel has made itself very comfortable on the passenger seat, showing little interest of returning to the great outdoors.

Soon it is pitch black outside and Ms Matthews realises time is running out to sort a place for Barry to stay for the night.

The driver makes a last gasp attempt to lure the co*ckerel, who has laid droppings all over the inside of the vehicle, back into the wild using raspberries and pecan nuts.

Holding the animal in her lap, Ms Matthews accepts there is no option but to take the bird home, despite her having five cats as pets, and in the next clips Barry can be seen sitting on her shoulder and eating some food.

The shocked driver said:'He just didn't want to get out of the car.

'I was trying to nudge it out the car and then the next thing I know he's sat on the passenger seat.

'I was thinking OK, well it looks like I now have a chicken.

'What do I do? Honestly these things only happen to me.

'There's a farm over there and I'm going to go and see if it belongs to the farm. It just bit me as well.'

Ms Matthews has since decided to rescue the bird, risking the wrath of her boyfriend by bringing it home, before eventually finding a new home for the co*ckerel.

In one clip, she gave an update, saying: 'So he doesn't belong to the people on the farm, nobody is answering there, so we are now going to see if we can find if he lives up here.

'He seems quite happy apart from he s*** on my car seat, so that's great. We are going to go to the next house.'

In the next update, she said: 'It's getting really dark and late and I can't find where this co*ckerel lives.

'I'm gonna try and lure him back out into the field.
