Mage Build Overview

Creating an effective Mage in Idleon follows a familiar pattern to the other base Idleon classes with accuracy requirements being your first objective. For the Mage this means the Agility (AGI) stat which is available through the Mage talents and should be increased as necessary alongside other damage, wisdom and utility talents to improve your fighting gains. The below talent guide recommendations provides a general order of priority to your talent build that will be effective as you progress through Idleon with players able to adjust depending on their account specifics or goals.

Mage Tab 1 Talents

Tab 1 skills for your Mage build should be prioritised as follows:

Talent	Effect	Notes
Quickness Boots	+ Base AGI (Agility)	The primary source of agility when playing as a Mage that translates into accuracy. I recommend around 35 points invested here by the time you reach the World 1 boss which is approximately 1 talent point per character level. If players need additional accuracy you can add points here as necessary but be careful of overinvesting here as it will impact your ability to invest in damage talents instead.
Sharpened Axe	+ Base weapon power	A simple but effective boost to weapon power that will improve your damage and fighting gains. This provides a foundation of damage before we start investing in percentage damage boosts talents later on.
Overclocked Energy	+% Damage based on power of 10 max MP	The first 30 talent points are guaranteed to offer more damage than Gilded Sword below as these levels provide more than 1% damage boost per every power of 10 max MP. After this point it will depend on your maximum mana pool but a good default choice is maxing Gilded Sword after the initial 30 points here and then returning to max Overclocked Energy after that.
Gilded Sword	+% Damage dealt	Gives 1% damage boost per talent level that turns the foundation of damage you have accumulated from Sharpened Axe and your equipment upgrades into further damage gains.
Idle Casting	+% AFK Gains rate for fighting	With your damage established players can further boost fighting gains by increasing your total AFK Gains through this talent.
Book of the Wise	+ Base WIS (Wisdom)	With the above talents sufficiently invested in it is time to turn your attention to the wisdom stat which provides a secondary damage boost and in late game Idleon is significantly powerful given the range of percentage boosts available to push this further.
Mana Booster	+ Max MP	Pushing the benefits of Overclocked Energy this base MP boost can be invested in as your last priority for damage from this tab after the above are maxed.

Mage Tab 2 Talents

Tab 2 skills for your Mage build should be prioritised as follows:

Talent	Effect	Notes
Power Overwhelming	+% Weapon power effect on damage	Turning your weapon power obtained so far into extra damage makes this a priority talent for a damage focused Mage talent build. Note that players should obtain 1 point in Energy Bolt and Mini Fireball first as these attack talents are highly efficient for one point.
Energy Bolt	Next basic attack strikes a monster for additional damage	Players should place one point here when first advancing to the Mage class and assign it to their attack bar as it improves AFK and active fighting. After maxing Power Overwhelming I recommend you invest 50 points before moving on to other talents below as this is approximately the point where the AFK gains benefit diminishes.
Mini Fireball	Shoots a fireball dealing damage	Same as Energy Bolt above.
Knowledge is Power	+% WIS effect on damage	Your next major source of damage that turns your wisdom gained into a larger damage boost and one that continues to deliver as your wisdom progresses from hundreds to thousands and beyond.
Individual Insight	+ Base WIS (Wisdom)	More wisdom means increased damage that makes this an obvious next investment and feeds nicely into Knowledge is Power above.
Mana Overdrive	+% Max MP	With your stronger wisdom talents above completed it is time to push your mana higher which is a secondary source of damage due to Overclocked Energy.
Unt’Wis’Ted Robes	+% WIS from equipment	A talent that only begins to offer value later in Idleon progression as equipment has low stat values. When you have a huge number of talent points though and everything else is maxed this is where you can invest your overflowing talent points to gain some extra wisdom damage.
Choppin It Up Ez	+% Minigame rewards and +% damage based on minigame high score	The final source of damage available in the Mage tab that scales with your chopping mini game high score. Even for mini game experts though this is a small overall percentage damage boost that makes it the lower priority.
